NZ Business Show
1. Who we are
Forward Events Limited runs the NZ Business Show (“we”, “us”, “our” ). This policy explains how we handle personal information under the Privacy Act 2020. It applies to visitors, exhibitors, sponsors, speakers and users of www.nzbusinessshow.com, and forms part of our Exhibitor and Sponsorship Agreement and ticket terms.
2. What we collect and why
We collect only what we need to run the NZ Business Show:
Visitors: name, job title, company, contact and billing details, badge scans, session attendance, and any dietary or accessibility needs you tell us.
Exhibitors, sponsors and speakers: business contact details, staff names, bios, photos, and what we need to deliver our agreement.
Website and email: IP address, pages visited, cookies, and email opens and clicks.
We use it to run registrations, bookings and the event; send event updates and, where allowed, marketing; connect visitors with exhibitors; keep people safe; improve our events; and meet our legal obligations.
3. Where we get it
Mostly from you. Sometimes from others, such as an exhibitor's staff list, a colleague who registers you, our ticketing provider, or public business sources like company websites. When we get your information this way, this policy is our notice to you under the Privacy Act. If you give us someone else's details, please let them know about this policy.
4. Who we share it with
We never sell personal information. We share it only with:
Exhibitors and sponsors: if you let them scan your badge or opt in, they receive your name, company, job title and contact details. They must handle these under NZ privacy and anti-spam law.
Other attendees: Event App profile details you choose to make visible.
Service providers: for ticketing, payments, email, website hosting and venue operations. Some providers store data overseas.
Others: our advisers, emergency services when safety requires it, a buyer of our business, or where the law requires.
5. Photos and filming
We photograph and film the show, including speaking sessions and use this content to promote our events. If you'd rather not appear, tell our team on the day, or contact us afterwards and we'll remove or blur you where we reasonably can. The venue may also run security cameras (CCTV) under its own privacy policy.
6. Marketing and cookies
We send marketing only with your consent or where the Unsolicited Electronic Messages Act allows it, such as to past attendees and exhibitors. Every message has an unsubscribe link. Our website uses cookies, Google Analytics and other advertising tools to measure traffic and show you our ads on other sites. You can block cookies in your browser settings.
7. Keeping it safe
We protect your information with reasonable security measures. We keep event and marketing records for up to three years after your last contact with us, and financial records for seven years for tax. If a breach is likely to cause serious harm, we'll tell you and the Privacy Commissioner.
